If I were given the below question, would I have been able to answer it directly WITHOUT actually knowing the strucutre of camphene? Would mechanisms of dehydrations been sufficient enough to arrive to the appropriate molecule?
I'm not sure if I should take the camphene structure for granted and just try to "reverse engineer" the answer.
I do have the solution's manual with me, but, as usual, it only summarizes the answer with the mechanisms without the "why" behind it.
