And after a cursory glance through the site, I'm very impressed. They have free and well-written textbooks, called "flexbooks," for everything from elementary school arithmetic to calculus (and even one on basic analysis); geology, biology, physics, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, technology, and so on. The books focus on conceptual learning instead of plugging in formulas, and the organization's teamed up with Microsoft and NASA. I think the site is only available in English, but they could really make an impact if the books and assessments could be translated into other languages for use in less-developed countries. Registered users can create and release books for free on the site; heck, maybe one day, I'll contribute something.
