1. A 0.192 mole sample of solid NaX is dissolved in 275 mL of water in an insulated container at 23.7°C After the solid dissolves, the temperature of the water is 19.2°C. What is the heat of solution of NaX?
2. q=mcΔT or q=msΔT
3.heat of solution of water
Density of water is 1.00g/mL
so that gives me the mass of water is 275 grams because 275mL X 1.00g/mL
the specific heat of water is 4.18 J/ g X degree celsius
the change of temperature of water is ΔT=23.7-19.2=4.5 celsius
so the heat of solution of water is q= (275)(4.18)(4.5)= 5172.75 Joules
and this is where i get stuck. I don't know what to do with the .192 moles of NaX
