Charge produced at end of an insulator rod using electric induction

samedi 29 mars 2014

When a charged body is brought near one end of a rod, opposite charge is produced at the opposite end of the rod. This is written in my book.

I think this is because opposite charge will try to be as far from each other as possible.

Then if a charged ball is kept on an insulator plate, then the opposite charge will be induced at the farthest corner/corners?
