the graphene's fermi velocity is ~ 10^6, theoretically measured from the slope of the linearly dispersed band. Now, why the same concept is not applicable to Semiconductors even though they contains linear valence and conduction bands, in other words why the Fermi velocities are not calculated for inorganic semiconductors.
