non-degree worth it?

lundi 29 juillet 2013

Hello,

I graduated with double degree in Math and Physics. Early on I didn't really know what I liked so I took classes from various subjects (math, physics, programming, chem etc) and ended with an average B GPA.

Eventually I figured out I really wanted to do Mathematics (math gpa is like 3.5). I applied for MS degree in the same university (they have really good math program) and got accepted late...I was probably on waiting list or something.

I couldn't attend so I asked for deferral but was denied. I must have been like the first guy to ever get denied a deferral. My professor (teaching for 20+ years in same university) was like "they always accept deferral". I wasn't surprised much tbh...i'm having worse year ever...filled with badlucks.

Anyway, I also applied for non-degree and I'm curious if it is worth it. I can transfer about 3 classes from non-degree to Masters (that is if i get accepted again). I genuinely don't know if it will be worth it. I will have to take loan to pay for it and if I don't get accepted in future i'll be paying for literally nothing.
