Based on this article, http://www.nature.com/news/did-a-hyp...iverse-1.13743 there are some who believe this 3D universe was spawned out of the collapse of a 4D universe's star.
Now I'm not an expert on these things but I figured that if our universe existed within some larger, higher-dimensional universe, then that universe could not be governed by the same laws of physics as ours, therefore eliminating the certainty that a 4D star "collapsed" as we would put it. My thoughts are that if our universe was created out of some other "universe" or what have you, then that higher "universe" would be governed by an entirely different set of laws incomprehensible to humans or other sentient beings who exist in this universe.
Would like to hear the thoughts of others on this matter
